HOW STUDENTS CAN MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR WEEKEND

How Students Can Make the Most of Their Weekends

How Students Can Make the Most of Their Weekends (With a Little Help from Parents!)

Weekends are a well-deserved break from school, but that doesn’t mean they should be all about lounging around. A good mix of rest, fun, and productivity can help students recharge while still staying on top of things. Here’s how students can make their weekends count—and how parents can lend a hand!

How Students Can Spend Their Weekends Wisely

Take Time to Relax: After a busy school week, it’s important to unwind. Catch up on sleep, watch a movie, or just take it easy—it’ll help you feel refreshed.

Stay on Top of School Work: Use the weekend to review notes, finish assignments, and prep for upcoming tests. A little effort now means less stress later!

Try Something Fun and Productive: Whether it’s reading a book, learning a new skill, or diving into a hobby like painting or music, weekends are great for exploring interests.

Help Out at Home: Pitching in with chores teaches responsibility and keeps things running smoothly for everyone.

Get Moving: Go for a walk, play a sport, or just have some fun outdoors—it’s great for both physical and mental health.

How Parents Can Help

Encourage a Balanced Routine: Help kids create a weekend schedule that includes rest, schoolwork, and fun.

Create a Good Study Environment: A quiet and comfy spot can make all the difference when it comes to getting work done.

Have Meaningful Chats: Ask about their week, their dreams, and their interests. Connecting with kids is always a win!

Support Social Time: Let them hang out with friends or family—it helps build strong relationships and social skills.

Keep an Eye on Screen Time: A little screen time is fine, but too much can eat into sleep, study, and quality family time.

Lead by Example: Kids learn by watching. Show them the value of reading, exercising, and being responsible through your own actions.

Wrapping It Up

Weekends don’t have to be all work or all play—they can be a mix of both! By balancing school, fun, and personal growth, students can head into the new week feeling refreshed and ready. And with a little guidance, parents can make sure their kids get the most out of their weekends.

So, why not start this weekend? Encourage your child to find that balance, and let’s create a culture of learning, fun, and responsibility together!

A Visit to Citizen Hospital, Suleja.

It is right to affirm that life is best enjoyed when health is prioritised.

This is so because value placed on health is the best investment.

In order to expose our students with interest in being a part of the health workforce in the nearest future, we organized a vital excursion to Citizen Hospital, Suleja, Niger state.

The visit lasted for about three(3) hours and the kids learnt about various sectors of the health facility and their functions.

We look forward to organizing more visits to enlighten the minds of our students as they venture into their chosen careers and professions.
This is why we are called 'Educators' 😊

Below are media files of our time out.

A Day Out on Rail Tracks

'T.G.I.F' isn't a clichΓ© because we had a good taste of why Thanking God for Fridays is essential. πŸ˜‰

As scholars keen in feeding our inquisitive mind, we ventured into learning what Railway Transportation feels like and 'Oh Boy!' it was really a wonderful experience.

Today's outing was an excursion to the IDU Railway Station where we made a transit on rail track to the KUBWA Railway Station, Abuja.

Amongst a whole lot, we learnt about Ticket Purchase processes, Sections in the Station and most importantly, the DOs and DON'Ts of Railway Transportation.

Now, this is a great way to end the Midterm Break and begin the weekend!

Thank God it's Friday! πŸ‘πŸ‘

KELLOGG CAME VISITING

Have you noticed that MUMMY sounds like 'YUMMY'.

Every child would gladly scream your name joyfully when gifted something delicious.

No wonder Daddy often becomes most favourite to kids these days because he is always open-handed to spoil kids with goodies.

Balanced diets, nutritious meals and good food nutrients are paramount but sometimes candies and chocolates makes you a more friendly parent!

KELLOGG Candies are one of the yummy friends of kids.

STUDY TIPS!

Study isn't just for the night before an assignment's due or the night before an exam.
It's never too early – or too late – to develop good study habits. The sooner you get into a good study groove, the easier everything will be and the more your chances of getting good marks will improve.
Here are our top tips for getting the most out of study.

1. Pick a place and time
Everyone has their own idea about the best place and time to study. Whether it's your bedroom at night or the library after school, find a study space and a regular study time that works for you and stick with it.

One extensive value that enhances man to adapt to changes around him is his abilities to 'COMPETE'.

Healthy Competition is worthwhile and its necessity cannot be overemphasized.

Formal Education goes beyond knowledge acquisition limited by the four walls of a classroom, its supremacy is sourced from strength and wit powered by competing with other scholars.

Every achiever climbs through the ladder of prowess in his/her field of specialization by engaging in positive competition to build skill and abilities.

Below are throwback photos of a Mathematics competition we participated in Last year.

The experience was superb.

20 EDUCATION QUOTES FOR STUDENTS

Whatever good we see in our world today is because of an educative mind behind it.
Education is not just about spoon feeding but about inspiring them to think out of the box and foresee a better future.
It is all about how to apply it in real life to change the world for a better cause.
From Chanakya, Albert Einstein to Swami Sivananda, all have their say on the role of education in our society.
There are so many Education quotes for students based on the significance and unparalleled role of education in a person’s life and here we can have a look at some of the famous ones that motivated students.
1. Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” Anthony J.1 D’Angelo

A LETTER FROM ABRAHAM LINCOLN TO HIS SON'S TEACHER

President Abraham Lincoln's letter to his son’s teacher is a rule book of what it should take to effectively raise a child.
Each paragraph consists of memorable lessons that every man should know as he grows up.

Read and learn the dictates of the wise to the simple.

.............................................................

My son starts school today. It is all going to be strange and new to him for a while and I wish you would treat him gently. It is an adventure that might take him across continents. All adventures that probably include wars, tragedy and sorrow. To live this life will require faith, love and courage.
So dear Teacher, will you please take him by his hand and teach him things he will have to know, teaching him – but gently, if you can. Teach him that for every enemy, there is a friend. He will have to know that all men are not just, that all men are not true. But teach him also that for every scoundrel there is a hero, that for every crooked politician, there is a dedicated leader.
